The call was made around 10 a.m. on Monday. Singh claimed that some people from a security company named Trig had hired him to carry out the murder. As soon as the police received the call, they took the matter seriously and immediately increased security measures.

However, after thorough investigation, it was found that the threat was completely false. Singh had made up the entire story due to personal issues with his employers over salary and termination. He allegedly wanted to frame his seniors out of frustration.

The Khar Police have now registered a case against Singh for giving false information and creating panic. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 9, additional charge), Nimit Goyal, said, “The police filed an FIR on Monday. The team has caught the accused. It was a complete hoax, as the story turned out to be false after verification.”

Following the incident, the Khar Police have registered a case against him under Sections 212 (furnishing false information), 217 (giving false information with intent to cause a public servant to misuse lawful power to injure another person), and 353(2) (statements conducing to public mischief) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Singh is now in custody and the investigation of the case is ongoing. Hehad previously been employed as a security guard at a restaurant in the Khar neighborhood of Mumbai. During the threatening calls, he was able to fabricate a plausible but completely untrue story because to his local connections and understanding of the neighborhood.
