The 2004 romantic comedy Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, starring Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Priyanka Chopra, is a beloved Bollywood classic. Recently, talk of a sequel has excited fans, but reports say the original trio may not return for Mujhse Shaadi Karogi 2.

Mujhse Shaadi Karogi 2 To Have New Star Cast

The film is currently being written, and producer Sajid Nadiadwala plans to cast three young, well-known actors in the lead roles. While the sequel promises a fresh twist, it remains to be seen how fans will react to a new cast taking over such iconic characters from the original film.

“Mujhse Shaadi Karogi 2 is currently in the scripting stage, and the final outcome of it being made depends on how the script shapes up. If Sajid is happy with the script, he will start the casting process, or else put the film on the backburner. The idea is to make another comedy of errors with three leads,” as per Pinkvilla source.

Last year, Priyanka Chopra, Salman Khan, and Akshay Kumar starrer Mujhse Shaadi Karoge completed 20 years. Taking to her Instagram stories, Priyanka Chopra shared photos in which she is seen posing with the lead actors and wrote, “20 years of being Rani! Woah! Those brows tho…”

David Dhawan directed Mujhse Shaadi Karoge, which was released in 2004. It became an immediate blockbuster hit. The film, which combines comedy, romance, and a string of misunderstandings to keep viewers interested, centres on a love triangle between Samir (Salman Khan), Rani (Priyanka Chopra), and Sunny (Akshay Kumar). Fans continue to like the movie’s tunes.

On the professional front, Priyanka Chopra was last seen in Amazon MGM Studios’ The Bluff and Heads of State. She will reportedly be starring in SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus SSMB29 alongside Mahesh Babu. Reportedly, she will also be starring in Nicholas Stroller’s comedy film with Michael Pena.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan was last seen in the action drama Sikandar, helmed by AR Murugadoss. The film featured a stellar cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Prateik Babbar, Sharman Joshi, and Kajal Aggarwal. Despite high expectations, Sikandar struggled to leave a significant impact at the box office. Fans are now eagerly awaiting an official announcement regarding Salman’s next project.

On the other hand, Akshay Kumar is currently seen in Kesari Chapter 2 with Ananya Panday and R Madhavan. Karan Singh Tyagi’s Kesari 2 with powerhouse production houses Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films, and Leo Media Collective backing the project. Kesari 2 is the sequel to the 2019 movie Kesari, which was inspired by the famous Battle of Saragarhi. The horrific Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919 and its aftermath are depicted in the most recent installment, Kesari Chapter 2.
