Nawazuddin Siddiqui summoned by Mumbai Police, for illegally spying on wife’s phone records

In a shocking turn of events, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, his wife Anjali Siddiqui, and his lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui have been summoned by the Maharashtra police in Thane on Friday. The matter is with regards to a connection with a call detail records (CDR) scam.

According to a report in Mid-Day, the actor’s name has been cropped up in a Call Detail Records (CDR) racket, after which he allegedly spied on his wife’s phone records. (Also Check: Thackeray: Nawazuddin heads to Matoshree to prepare for the film. VIEW PIC)

As per the details of the case, the crime branch has arrested 11 accused in the CDR racket. And it was during the course of their investigation when Nawazuddin’s name surfaced as well. A police source has quoted, “While screening the devices of one of the accused, we found Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s name. Nawaz had sought his wife’s CDR.”

“He is among hundreds of people who have been called for questioning. He will be questioned about his association with these detectives, and how he got in touch with them. We need his detailed statement,” said a police officer.

However, an official statement is awaited from Nawazuddin Siddiqui over this matter.
