Omkar Kapoor has been one of the most underrated actors of Bollywood. Right from the start, he left a big impact with his films as a child artiste and went on to become someone who hit the home run with blockbusters like ‘Pyar Ka Punchnama 2’. With time he has managed to work with legends like Rishi Kapoor. Now that he is all set to be back with some interesting projects, we happened to catch up with him and talk about the ongoing fiasco of nepotism in Bollywood.

Omkar not only spoke about his recent music video, but he also stressed up the recent happenings in Bollywood and how things are shaping up. Have a look at the video right here:

When asked about nepotism, Omkar said, “My thoughts on this (nepotism) is the same as before this chaos all happened. It exists in every field but our field has that limelight and glamour and the spotlight is on us. Also, we get looked down upon as if it happens only here, but it isn’t like that. A doctor’s son would be prepping up to be a doctor, and their parents would help them in that pursuit. Same with an engineer. So it’s there everywhere. Coming to our field, it’s little over-hyped I personally feel. Even if it’s happening in Bollywood, it’s just the first project that possible with this. After that, it’s your own work that can only sustain you and help you survive in this career. So I don’t think there is any shortcut to it.

When prodded about whether he has ever faced it when he signed a project, and was let go off because someone more powerful or from a filmy background called up to get their known-person onboard for the project, Omkar opened up about that too. He said, “No. Luckily it has yet happened to me. I hope I’m never in that situation because it will be very heartbreaking.

We must say, very well said.

Omkar is getting a lot of praise for his latest music video, ‘Makhmali’, which was one of the trending songs on social media platforms. He is also a part of the anthology ‘Forbidden Love’, which has been getting immense praise from all quarters.

At the same time, the nepotism debate and the Sushant Singh Rajput death case associated with it refuses to die down. Only time will tell if there was any nepotism angle involved which led to the death of Sushant or was it something else. Let’s wait and watch.
