In response to the deadly Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22, where 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen were killed, the Indian Armed Forces carried out Operation Sindoor early on Wednesday morning. The operation targeted nine terror launch pads located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

As per reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was closely monitoring the mission from the war room. The Indian government released a statement explaining that the operation was focused, precise, and non-escalatory. It emphasized that no Pakistani military bases were attacked, only terrorist infrastructure. The government said it chose targets carefully to avoid further conflict, while also ensuring those responsible for the Pahalgam attack were held accountable.
