As you wake up today and browse through the morning papers you will see a full page advertisement of ‘Padmaavat’. When you start to read it you will realise it isn’t actually an ad but a clarification of sorts that has been printed. Read further and one can clearly sense the need and the urge of the makers to stay clear of all controversies. What might seem to be yet another day in the life of film promotions is probably the fear and the desire to make ‘Padmaavat’ see the light of the day that the makers are living under.

The ad has 6 pointers for the people who are eagerly waiting for the release of the film and also for those who might still want to stage a protest against the film.

  • The film ‘Padmaavat’ is based on the epic ‘Padmaavat’ by Sufi poet, Malik Muhammad Jayasi which is a revered work of fiction
  • The film does not have and never had a dream sequence between Alauddin Khilji and Rani Padmavati
  • The film is an ode to the famed valour legacy and courage of Rajputs
  • The film potraysRani Padmavati with the utmost respect and does not tarnish her repute or misinterpreted her character in any manner.
  • The film has been cleared with only 5 modifications by the CBFC and is officially approved for release in India with a U/A certificate
  • There are no further cuts or modifications to the film

The makers and the actors, Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh put up the new poster with the changed name and the new release date on their social media pages confirming that the film is all set to create history at the box office.

Though the threats against the makers and the film are still going on, we hope the film does see the light of the day.
