Paresh Rawal’s unexpected departure from Hera Pheri 3 has taken fans by surprise and prompted legal proceedings from producer Akshay Kumar. Rawal shared a tweet updating fans about his ongoing dispute with Akshay Kumar following his exit from the film.

In his post, he mentioned that legal representatives are involved. He wrote, “My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has sent an appropriate response regarding my rightful termination and exit. Once they read my response, all issues will be resolved.” This suggests that Kumar may have filed a lawsuit against Rawal for withdrawing from the project on short notice.

According to Bollywood Hungama, Rawal has returned the signing amount of Rs 11 lakhs along with 15% interest, and a bit extra, for stepping away from the franchise. His original signing fee was Rs 11 lakhs, with total fees reportedly set at Rs 15 crore. Rawal’s sudden exit last week has caused shockwaves within the industry and among fans eagerly awaiting the third instalment. It had been in production for nearly two decades.
A representative from Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films stated that Rawal’s actions could lead to severe legal consequences. They emphasised that Kumar, who also produces the film, has taken legal action against him.
Rawal is best known for his role as Baburao Ganpatrao Apte in the first two Hera Pheri films. They were released in 2000 and 2006. The franchise’s third instalment is directed by Priyadarshan, who was also involved in the earlier films.
