When questioned about speculations regarding his retirement following his upcoming 100th film with Mohanlal, Priyadarshan stated, “That is something I’m just keeping in mind, maybe from Malayalam.”

Origin Of The Rumours

Veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan, celebrated for delivering blockbusters across multiple Indian languages, opened up about the possibility of stepping back from direction after completing his 100th film few monts back. In a interview with OnManorama, the filmmmaker admitted to feeling fatigued by the demanding nature of filmmaking, sharing that years of continuous work have taken a toll on him both creatively and physically.

Reflecting on this phase, he revealed that this sense of exhaustion also played a role in his decision to take on projects like Hera Pheri 3, as he balances passion with the need to slow down. While he hasn’t made a final decision about retirement, his remarks suggest that he is seriously contemplating a break and reassessing his long-term journey in cinema.
