Priyadarshan Opens Up On His Fun-Filled And Lively Sets
When asked about Akshay Kumar and his reputation for creating a fun and lively atmosphere on set, filmmaker Priyadarshan, who has collaborated extensively with the actor, shared, “My set is always like that. If Akshay (Kumar) and Suniel (Shetty) join together, it is the worst. My set is always fun. It’s like a picnic, and I want that. I don’t like my actors sitting in the van. They are always on the set so that there is a good spirit on the set to work. “
He continued, “And the mood of that set, which they make, is really fun. For people like Paresh (Rawal), what will fall on his head, he doesn’t know (laughs). So I have seen a lot of pranks they play, but that brings the feel-good vibe on the set and makes the film better.”
Priyadarshan On Managing Playful Sets During Intense Scenes
When asked about how he manages to shoot intense scenes in this mischievous set, Priyadarshan said, “I have to stop the match in between when they play. It is okay when it’s fun films. Because when it comes to serious scenes, I tell them, please have all the fun after the camera area. But they understand it. See, it should be like that. Otherwise, getting up in the morning thinking, ‘Today I have to go for shooting,’ is not the thing. But, ‘Today I have to go for shooting, it is fun’—that feeling is something completely different, and for that, people like Akshay and Sunil are very, very good.”
