Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai To Be Made As Film?
Producer JD Majethia, known for creating this iconic series, recently spoke about the possibility of making a movie version. While fans are eager for a film, Majethia feels it’s too late. He said a movie could have been made earlier, but now the right time has passed.
He also shared his thoughts on the current state of comedy in India. Reacting to the demand of the Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai film, JD Majethia in a conversation with Hindustan Times shared, “Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai ki film nahi banni chahiye. It could have been made earlier but not now. There should be more to that series too, but it’s too late to make a film on that. I am not too sure, but we will wait and see.”
Majethia added that comedy is a tough genre. While non-fiction shows have stars like Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover, fiction comedy is struggling. He believes that unless the content is truly great, people won’t watch. Still, he hopes that beloved shows like Khichdi and Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai can bring back good comedy with the right storyline.
