Rahul shared with TOI, “He was in the ICU for eight and a half days. Medically, it was a result of poor eating habits. In the last four-five days, he had stopped eating altogether. Of course, he felt lonely, and he had lost interest in life. Usko zindagi jeene ka jazba nahi tha. He would turn down several work offers.”

Rahul shared that Mukul became emotionally distant after their parents passed away. Their father died in 2019, and their mother in 2023. Mukul had moved to Delhi to take care of their father, and after both parents were gone, he became more withdrawn and lost interest in life. He said, “Only now, after completing all the rituals, is the reality sinking in — and I know the pain will only deepen.”

Rahul expressed how the pain of losing his brother is sinking in only now, after completing the last rituals. He also addressed public comments about Mukul’s fitness and mental health. Rahul said people now claiming to know about Mukul were not in touch with him during his final years. They didn’t visit him in the hospital or attend his prayer meeting.

Rahul reminded everyone that Mukul was not unfit, he used to run half-marathons. But when someone stops caring about themselves, it becomes visible.

Rahul Dev’s brother, Mukul Dev, last appeared in the Hindi movie Anth The End. With standout performances in both indie and popular films, he made a significant contribution to cinema throughout a 20-year period. His acting career started in 1996 with the television series Mumkin.

That same year, he costarred with Sushmita Sen in the thriller “Dastak.” Over the course of his two-decade career, he starred in a large number of Hindi, Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Bengali, and Malayalam films.
