Rajpal Yadav REACTS To Saurabh Dwivedi’s Mocking Comment

At the recent Chetak Screen Awards, Rajpal Yadav was present alongside several other celebrities. During a segment hosted by Saurabh Dwivedi, who was discussing global chaos and currency fluctuations, Saurabh made a pointed remark at Rajpal. He said, “Rajpal bhai, no matter how much the dollar and rupee fluctuate, you’ll still have to pay back the same amount of your dues.”

Saurabh’s remark elicited laughter from the audience, with many celebrities smiling politely. But it was Rajpal’s composed response that truly stood out. Netizens Criticize Saurabh Dwivedi For Insulting Rajpal Yadav

While Rajpal Yadav kept the mood light and cheerful, netizens, especially his fans, were quick to defend him. As the viral video circulated, people flooded social media with praise for Rajpal’s respectful attitude and criticized Saurabh for his insensitive comment. Many also pointed out the awkward silence that followed Saurabh’s remark. One user commented, “Such an insensitive comment, but beautifully answered by Rajpal Yadav.”

Rajpal Yadav’s Cheque Bounce Case

Rajpal Yadav’s legal troubles date back to 2010, when he borrowed Rs. 5 crore from Delhi-based Murali Projects Pvt. Ltd. to fund his directorial debut, Ata Pata Laapata. The film flopped, and Rajpal was unable to repay the loan. In April 2018, a Magisterial Court convicted him and his wife, Radha, under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act after seven cheques issued to the complainant bounced. He was sentenced to six months of simple imprisonment.

The conviction was upheld in 2018, but legal complications persisted. The debt increased from Rs. 5 crore to Rs. 9 crore. Despite depositing Rs. 75 lakh via demand drafts in October 2025, most of the liability remained unpaid. On February 5, 2026, Rajpal surrendered to Tihar Jail authorities to serve his six-month sentence. During this time, he also made an emotional appeal, revealing that he was facing severe financial difficulties. Several celebrities then stepped forward to support him during this challenging phase.
