Ram Gopal Varma Dhurandhar 2

Ram Gopal Varma is no stranger to bold opinions, and his latest take on Dhurandhar The Revenge is no exception. Ever since the film hit theatres and emerged as a massive success, RGV has consistently praised Aditya Dhar’s vision. However, this time, his focus has shifted beyond the film itself to what he finds far more surprising—the industry’s silence in the face of what he calls a cinematic phenomenon.

Ram Gopal Varma SLAMS Bollywood’s ‘Loud Silence’ On Dhurandhar 2’s Success

Taking to X, the filmmaker expressed disbelief at the lack of vocal appreciation from his peers. “Now that @AdityaDharFilms has EXPLODED a ATOMIC BOMB right under the film industry, what is shocking is the loud silence from the rest of the film industry,” he wrote.

He didn’t stop there. Instead, RGV went on to question the reasons behind this muted response, offering his own sharp, almost satirical theories. “I don’t know whether this is because the #Dhurandhar2 ‘s devastating explosion has hurled everyone else in the film industry so far into OUTER SPACE that their applause cannot reach here due to the long distances, OR whether they’re huddled in denial, whispering to each other, ‘It’s just propaganda… it will go away soon,’ so that they can crawl back and resume making their same old repetitive films. OR are they just paralysed by the film’s sheer brilliance, realising that whatever they’ve been making or planning to make, now simply cannot measure up?”

Driving home his point, RGV stressed that ignoring the film’s impact could be a costly mistake. “But isn’t it extremely unwise to ignore a DINOSAUR like #Dhurandhar2 staring you in the face and BREATHING FIRE into your eyes with its BOX OFFICE ROAR shaking the very ground beneath their feet, how can anyone be so foolish enough to look away? My sincere advice to all my colleagues in the film industry is to please take #Dhurandhar2 deadly seriously and study it like an ultra-fresh course in filmmaking and educate yourselves, or risk being buried forever in the graveyard of pre March 19th 2026 cinema.”

RGV Calls Dhurandhar 2 A Filmmaking Textbook

Alongside his critique of the industry, RGV also shared an in-depth appreciation of the film, positioning it as a benchmark for modern cinema. He even went as far as urging aspiring filmmakers to rethink traditional learning paths. “My one line advise to all film students is ‘Leave your institutes and spend that money and time in #Dhurandhar2 theatres’,” he wrote.

He described Aditya Dhar’s craft in striking terms, stating that the filmmaker “Did not direct, but weaponised cinema itself,” blending high-intensity action with emotional storytelling. RGV also highlighted the film’s technical brilliance, from its chapter-based narrative structure to its practical effects, sound design, and editing.

Despite its nearly four-hour runtime, he noted that the film never feels stretched, thanks to its gripping pace and constant narrative momentum. He singled out Ranveer Singh for delivering a layered and powerful performance, while also appreciating R. Madhavan for his restrained and controlled presence.

RGV’s reaction goes beyond praise; it reads as both a warning and a wake-up call for the industry. For him, Dhurandhar The Revenge is not just a successful film but a shift in cinematic standards, one that demands attention, study, and perhaps even a rethink of how mainstream cinema is approached going forward.
