Ranbir Kapoor Admits He Can’t Wait To Go Back To Shooting Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal Park; Says, “We Keep Discussing Different Ideas”

Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up to star in the sequel to Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The actor collaborated with Sandeep Reddy Vanga for the first time on Animal, which turned out to be a major box office hit. A follow-up titled Animal Park is currently in development, and both Ranbir and Sandeep recently expressed their excitement about reuniting for the new instalment.

Ranbir Kapoor Admits He Can’t Wait To Go Back To Shooting Animal Park

The duo interacted with audiences after a screening of Animal in Japan, ahead of its release on February 13. Ranbir shared, “I can’t wait to get back on set with Sandeep and play this character again! There’s another chapter now. Since it’s a continuing story, he had a clear vision for Part 2 while shooting Part 1. It’s very exciting and inspiring for me as an actor. We keep discussing different ideas and bouncing thoughts off each other.”

Sandeep Reddy Vanga also discussed the plans for the sequel. He said, “Animal Park will start soon after I finish my current project. There will be more animals, as Aziz is another animal. The story will revolve around a conflict between two brothers who look alike. That’s why I think Animal Park is the perfect title. I plan to begin shooting by mid-2027.”

Currently, Sandeep is busy with the filming of Spirit, starring Prabhas.

Regarding Animal, the 2023 film was a gritty, hyper-violent action drama exploring a twisted father-son relationship. Ranbir portrayed Ranvijay Vijay Singh, a man haunted by childhood trauma inflicted by his emotionally distant father, played by Anil Kapoor. The film was a massive success, grossing over Rs 900 crore worldwide.

RK’s Upcoming Projects

As for Ranbir’s upcoming projects, he is working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, a period drama set in the 1960s alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, scheduled for release later this year. He will also star in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part One, where he will portray Lord Ram.
