Ranbir Kapoor has finally broken his silence, sharing fresh insights about his upcoming film, Animal Park, with Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The actor revealed that the sequel to his 2023 film is expected to begin filming in 2027. Currently, Ranbir is busy with a lineup of star-studded projects, including Ramayana and Love and War, both scheduled for release this year. Following these, he has Animal Park in his upcoming slate. However, Ranbir shared that the production of Animal Park is still some time away.
Ranbir Kapoor Shares Update On Animal Park
In an interview with Deadline Hollywood, Ranbir was asked if Animal 2 was already in production. He responded, “The director is currently working on another film. We plan to start that in 2027, so it’s a bit away.” When inquired about the script, he said, “Reddy Vanga has shared some ideas about what he really wants to do with the movie. He envisions it as a three-part series, with the second part titled Animal Park.”
He further explained, “We’ve been exchanging ideas from the first film on how to take the story forward. It’s very exciting because I get to play two roles — both the antagonist and the protagonist. It’s a very original project with an incredible director, and I’m thrilled to be part of it.”
Regarding his dual roles, Ranbir shared that the antagonist undergoes plastic surgery and creates a body double to resemble the protagonist, adding an intriguing layer to his character portrayal.
About Animal

After an assassination attempt on his father, Vijay embarks on a ruthless quest for revenge.
RK’s Upcoming Projects
On the work front, Ranbir is currently filming Love and War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Set in the 1960s, the film also stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, and is slated for release in June 2026. Additionally, he will appear as Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part One, scheduled for release later this year.
