Randeep Hooda shared that he never planned to get married but how meeting Lin changed him. He said, “I used to be very sad in school. I would think that I wouldn’t like to bring another person into this world who’d go through schooling like I did. So I never had the intention, but somehow our paths crossed and I’m very happy that they did. I got a little late in getting married because I joke that I don’t have a government job”.
He even recalled how his family was against the wedding and it took place during unrest. “There were complications. Like anyone else’s, my parents also wanted that I marry within the caste. That’s quite prevalent in Jaats. In fact, I’m the first one from my family to marry a non-Jaat. So everybody had a problem with that, but it gradually went away. There was a problem going on in Manipur at the time of our wedding. But I thought the wedding should take place in the bride’s city. I wanted to support and respect my wife and her family’s culture. The security escorted us everywhere. We had more security personnel than the baraatis (guests from the groom’s side). There were only 10 of us because we didn’t want to put too much burden on the bride’s family. And since the environment was problematic, I didn’t want too much fanfare”.
On the work front, the actor is currently receiving praise for his role in Jaat. The film also stars Sunny Deol, Viineet Kumar Siingh, Saiyami Kher and Regina Cassandra in pivotal roles.
