Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar In More Trouble! After Major Mohit Sharma’s Parents, Widow Of Karachi Cop Object To His Portrayal In Trailer; Threatens Legal Action

With just days left until Ranveer Singh-led Dhurandhar hits screens, the hype surrounding the spy-actioner is at an all time high. While fans are eagerly waiting for the Aditya Dhar directorial to release, the film has also been making the headlines due to legal reasons. Just days after the parents of Ashoka Chakra and Sena Medal awardee, Late Major Mohit Sharma, approached the Delhi HC for a stay on the film, the widow of Karachi cop Chaudhary Aslam has voiced her objection to his portrayal in the trailer and even threatened legal action if he’s depicted in a false manner. Chaudhary Aslam’s Widow Threatens Legal Action Against Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar

As reported by PTI, Chaudhary Aslam’s widow, Naureen Aslam, during an interview with the Geo Digital platform, revealed she is waiting to see the complete movie and see how the makers have portrayed her late husband. However, she added that after watching the trailer, she found the use of the words ‘devi and a jinn’ offensive and disrespectful. She was quoted saying, “We are Muslims and such words are disrespectful not only to Aslam but his mother as well, who was a simple, honest woman.”

Naureen also stated that her husband was a brave warrior and if it showed otherwise, she will take the matter to court. Aslam’s widow said, “If I see my husband being portrayed wrongly or any propaganda against him in the film, I will definitely take all legal steps I can.” Naureen further added, “My husband was a brave and courageous police officer, and his name was feared by criminals and terrorists… I am surprised that they have portrayed Rehman Dakait as a big terrorist, although I know from my husband that he was a extortionist, kidnapper and a criminal.”

Who Was Chaudhary Aslam?

For those who do not know, Chaudhary Aslam was a Pakistani police officer who later became an encounter specialist. He was lauded for his bravery against terror and criminal gangs in Karachi. Aslam was assassinated by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban’s Mohmand chapter. On January 9, 2014, the chaper claimed responsibility for carrying out a bomb attack on his car on the Lyari Expressway. This attack resulted in the loss of multiple lives – including two other police officers, his driver, and a guard.
