Dhurandhar The Revenge Runtime Adjusted Before Launch After CBFC Eliminates Violent Scenes

Dhurandhar: The Revenge, also known as Dhurandhar 2, is set to release on March 19, 2026. In anticipation of the film’s launch, the producers have organised paid previews across nearly all theatres on March 18, starting at 5 pm. While fans are eager to see the sequel on the big screen, the CBFC has recently made changes to the film’s duration after requesting the removal of certain violent scenes and offensive language. The updated runtime for Dhurandhar: The Revenge is now 3 hours 49 minutes, and 6 seconds.

Dhurandhar 2 Runtime Adjusted Before Launch After CBFC Eliminates

The alteration in the film’s length follows a directive from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). It asked the filmmakers to cut specific profane language and violent sequences involving Ranveer Singh’s character. According to Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC granted Dhurandhar: The Revenge an ‘A’ rating, with the Examining Committee (EC) requesting 21 edits and modifications. The censor board instructed the producers to mute certain profanities and replace some terms. However, a detailed list of offensive words was not provided.

In two instances, a word was muted, and a character’s name was replaced with a fictional one. Regarding visual edits, four violent scenes were shortened: a scene where a head is struck with a hammer was reduced by two seconds, a head being hit with cement blocks was cut by four seconds, a quick shot of an eye being smashed was removed, and a 24-second segment involving beheading and kicking was edited out.

The committee also requested corrections in a couple of scenes—one relating to a historical event (shown only in subtitles) and another involving the mention of a city name. Additionally, the producers were asked to include a disclaimer about drug use and a warning that reads, “This film contains disturbing content; viewer discretion is advised.” The chapter titles will now be displayed in Hindi. The Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) certificate was submitted for the animal scenes.

Furthermore, the producers obtained official permission from the CBFC to include references to the Prime Minister and news footage. Based on the CBFC’s recommendations, they removed 1 minute and 34 seconds of footage. This brings the total length of Dhurandhar 2, 3 hours, 49 minutes, and 6 seconds.
