Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan in January 2024 was attacked at his residence. In this case, a man, Shariful Islam Shehzad was arrested and has now moved to court for bail. Shehzad has filed a bail application in the Mumbai Sessions Court, claiming that the case against him is completely false, as per India Today.
Man Accused of Attacking Saif Ali Khan Seeks Bail, Claims Case is False
In his plea, Shehzad argued that the FIR is baseless and that he has been wrongly accused. His lawyer stated that Shehzad has been fully cooperating with authorities and assured that he will not tamper with any evidence if released on bail.
The bail plea further mentioned that keeping Shehzad in custody serves no real purpose other than acting as pre-trial punishment. It emphasized that since he has already cooperated with the investigation, there is no need for his continued detention.
Saif Ali Khan’s Attack Incident
For those unfamiliar with the case, Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his Mumbai residence on January 16, around 2 AM. The actor heard noises from his son Jeh’s room, where one of his female employees was being attacked. When he intervened, a fight broke out, and the intruder injured both Saif and the staff member.
Shehzad has been accused of breaking into Saif’s house with the intention of robbery. He allegedly used a wooden weapon and a blade to attack the actor and his employee.
Saif was stabbed six times and was immediately rushed to the hospital. Fortunately, after receiving treatment, he was discharged on January 21. The case remains under investigation while the court reviews Shehzad’s bail application.
