Sajid Khan is reportedly making a comeback to directing after seven years, following allegations raised against him in the #MeToo movement. According to sources, he is in talks with Zee Studios to direct a romantic comedy that will mark his return to Bollywood. The film is said to be an upcoming project featuring Govinda’s son, Yashvardhan Ahuja, in his debut, alongside Nitanshi Goel and Krithi Shetty, directed by Sajid Khan.

Sajid Khan To Launch Yashvardhan Ahuja In His Directorial Comeback

Speculation within the industry suggests that Sajid Khan’s potential return has generated considerable buzz. The yet-untitled project is believed to serve as a launchpad for Yashvardhan Ahuja, who has another project lined up with Phantom Studios. Nitanshi Goel, known for ‘Laapataa Ladies’ (2024), and Krithi Shetty are reportedly cast as the female leads.

A source speaking to Mid-Day said, “Sajid has been approached by the studio, but he hasn’t given a final nod yet. The studio is keen to have him direct because of his expertise in comedy. Yashvardhan is also set to start another project with Phantom Studios, but he might prioritise this first. Sajid was also supposed to direct a film with John Abraham, but that didn’t materialise.” There are also rumours that the project could be a remake of a popular South Indian film.

Regarding Sajid Khan’s recent activities, he participated in ‘Bigg Boss 16’ in 2022. His appearance drew controversy, with the Delhi Commission for Women’s chief Swati Maliwal reportedly writing to then-Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur, urging him to remove Khan from the show. Maliwal argued that his presence provided an undue platform to an alleged sexual predator to attempt to rehabilitate his image.
