Salman Khan’s hit and run case, which has been prolonged for almost 13 years, has taken a new turn with The Bombay High Court rejecting the actor’s plea to summon his singer friend Kamaal Khan as a witness in this case.

On the unfortunate day when this fatal accident took place in 2002, Salman Khan was accompanied by few people and one of them was Kamaal Khan. Kamaal had then recorded a statement wherein he said that there were three people in the car including him and Salman was behind the wheels. In 2008, when he got the permission to travel abroad, the singer moved out of the country and since then Kamaal has been living abroad. Recently, on November 16, Salman’s lawyer had filed an application under section 391 of the Criminal Procedure Code, to call the only surviving witness Kamaal Khan so that he can unfold the mystery behind who was actually driving the car. Salman has said that his driver Ashok Singh was the driving the car when this accident took place.

Justice AR Joshi, who is currently judging this case, rejected Salman’s plea and said, “In the considered view of this court, there is nothing to show that Kamaal Khan should be examined as a court witness and the evidence adduced by the prosecution already recorded by the trial court is not sufficient to decide the present appeal.”

The actor is now planning to move to Supreme Court for the same.
