Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke Controversy Nora Fatehi

The controversy around Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke continues to intensify, with backlash over its lyrics prompting multiple responses from those associated with the track. Singer Mangli and director Prem have already apologised, while Nora Fatehi attempted to clarify her stance through her clarification video. In her explanation, Nora maintained that she had only shot for the original Kannada version years ago and was unaware of the Hindi adaptation’s final form until its release.

Nora Fatehi Hits Back At Trolls

However, her clarification has sparked mixed reactions online, with several users questioning her claims and even accusing her of playing the “victim card,” further fuelling the ongoing debate.

When one user accused her of not knowing the lyrics, she hit back, “But I didn’t perform to those lyrics. Do you not understand anything I said in this video? I did not perform to the Hindi version. I have never even seen or heard it until it was released. You clearly didn’t watch this video entirely. If you really are affected by this, please raise this issue to the people who made this song and decided to attach my image to it without my permission.”

As criticism mounted, Nora didn’t mince her words. Responding to a comment accusing her of avoiding accountability, she wrote, “Please f**k off.” She further lashed out at another user, saying, “Are you stupid or you don’t understand English? What did I say in the start of the video? Please tell us because I want to understand which English you speak, so next time I’ll speak in your English only.”

Addressing questions about legal action, Nora confirmed her next step, writing, “Don’t worry, I am definitely suing… If you are searching for logic, just watch my video again and have someone translate it to you since it seems you have difficulty with my English.”

Nora Revealed She Lost Her Best Friend Recently

She also responded to a comment about her absence online, revealing a personal loss. “No network, I was in a mountain … and yes my best friend died so it’s okay to go MIA for a few days. I don’t need to make up any story… it is what it is.”

When some users criticised her dance moves and styling, Nora clarified her stance, stating, “Nobody is playing holier than tho. I spoke my truth… as for the dressing and the dancing, it’s nothing different than what all your favourite heroines and actresses have done in the past… it’s a part of the glamour entertainment world. If you don’t like it then don’t follow performers… The issue at hand is the vulgar Hindi lyrics… I spoke my peace, case close if you don’t like my work please don’t watch it.” (sic)

She also acknowledged feedback about focusing on independent music, replying, “I totally hear it! And you are right! I’m working more on my own stuff now… I am definitely more careful now.”

Nora Fatehi Claps Back At Trolls, Saying She Doesn’t Understand Hindi

Reiterating her main point, Nora emphasised that she had no involvement with the Hindi version of the track. “I understand Hindi very well… I did not perform the song in Hindi! I never even heard this Hindi song! What part of this do you not understand!” she wrote.

She further explained, “The Kannada version wouldn’t be the same as the Hindi version from what I understood… I didn’t shoot this Hindi song. I didn’t make the song. I didn’t perform to it and I didn’t sing it. I don’t stand by it… Please hold the necessary people accountable.”

In another comment, Nora mentioned, “I understand Hindi very well. I don’t need someone to explain Hindi lyrics… I DID NOT PERFORM THE SONG IN HINDI ! I NEVER even heard this Hindi song! What part of this do u not understand! What part of this in my video did u not get? I’m so confused I feel like I’m one of the most articulate well-spoken people on social media and still u seem not to understand.”

Expressing frustration over how the situation unfolded, Nora concluded, “My bigger issue is the fact they went and made a whole Hindi version in the most vulgar inappropriate way possible and just released it without my knowledge… our approvals, opinions etc don’t matter.”

Despite the backlash, Nora Fatehi has also received a wave of support online. Many fans and industry insiders have come out in her defence, backing her version of events and calling out the handling of the song’s release. One user commented, “Babe this is why we need feminism”, to which Nora responded, “I agree.” Several fan pages have also rallied behind the actor, amplifying her clarification and urging people to hold the makers accountable.

NHRC, WRC Object Vulgar Lyrics

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) also issued a legal notice to the filmmakers. They have urged them to remove the song from YouTube. Additionally, Advocate Vineet Jindal filed a complaint with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). He called for the ban due to the visuals being obscene and harmful, particularly for children and women.

Women’s Rights Commissions from Karnataka and Haryana expressed concerns over the song’s lyrics as well. When questioned by the media, Prem defended the lyrics, claiming they were written in a different context.
