The outrage soon escalated beyond social media. A legal complaint was filed seeking a ban on the song, with claims that the content is “highly vulgar” and potentially harmful, especially for younger audiences. In a further development, authorities stepped in after the National Human Rights Commission took note of the issue. The Hindi version of the track was removed from YouTube, and the government reportedly directed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to take stricter action, including pulling the song from platforms.

Amid the growing controversy, Kangana Ranaut strongly reacted to the song during an interaction with the media. In a video shared by ANI, she said, “Cheap tactics aur attention seeking ke liye Bollywood ne har had paar kar di hai. Yeh gaane hum bachpan se sunte aaye hai par beech beech mein ispe pratibandh lagaa hai. Aur abhi mujhe lagta hai aur zyada strictness honi chahiye. Family ke saath baithke TV on karna dushvar ho gaya hai toh iska bhi mujhe lagta hai Bollywood pe lagaam lagaani padegi.”

(Bollywood has crossed all limits with vulgarity, tactics, and attention-seeking. The entire country is condemning and reprimanding them. But I don’t think they have any shame… There needs to be even more strictness about the display of such vulgarity and obscenity… I think some strict rein will have to be put on Bollywood.)

The controversy deepened when lyricist Raqueeb Alam, who was credited for the song. Publicly denied writing its lyrics, stating he felt “humiliated” by the association.

What started as just another dance number has now turned into a larger debate around censorship in Bollywood. With criticism coming from both the public and industry voices. The Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke row continues to spark conversations across the country.

What Are The Charges?

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has now intervened in the matter after the situation escalated. The Delhi Police Cyber Cell has received a criminal complaint. The complaint targets several key contributors, including lyricist Raqeeb Alam, director Prem, music composer Arjun Janya, and singer Mangli. It suggests that the song may violate provisions under Section 294 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Criticism isn’t limited to the Hindi version. Viewers have raised concerns about the Kannada lyrics and questioned the appropriateness of the content across both languages. In response, the makers have removed the Hindi version of the song from YouTube. Social media has been flooded with reactions since the song went viral. Many users expressed disappointment, lamenting what they perceive as a decline in lyric quality within Bollywood.
