Amid mounting criticism, Mangli took to Instagram to share a note and turned off the comments section on her post. She wrote, “Out of respect for public sentiment, the song has been removed from all platforms. I sincerely apologies to each and every one of you for the unintended mistake. It was never meant to hurt anyone’s sentiments, and we truly regret the oversight.” (sic)
She further added, “The corrected version of the lyrics has now been updated, and the revised version of the song will be released today evening. Nora Fatehi Reveals The Truth Behind Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke Song
Following the controversy, actor-dancer Nora Fatehi also issued an apology, clarifying her stance on the matter. She addressed the situation and expressed regret over any offence caused by the intent behind the track.
The actress shared a video on social media in which she explained, “First of all, I shot this song in Kannada three years ago. I agreed to do it because it was part of a big film and featured the iconic Sanjay Dutt. I trusted the filmmakers on set, so I went ahead with it. When I shot the song, I had no idea it was so vulgar. But when I heard the Hindi version, I realised it was extremely inappropriate.”
For the unversed, Mangli is a celebrated folk singer known for promoting the Banjar community. She has lent her voice to several popular Telugu films, including Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Hari Hara Veera Mallu. The makers have now moved swiftly to address the issue, with a revised version of the song set to be released soon.
About The Controversy
The opening verse of Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke features double entendre with graphic references to sex. The song was released in multiple languages—Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada—by Anand Audio, the film’s official music partner. The Hindi version has since been taken down from YouTube.
Over the past few days, the song has drawn criticism from the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA), actress Kangana Ranaut, and singer Armaan Malik, among others, who have condemned its objectionable lyrics. ANI reported that a lawyer has filed a petition with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Seeking an immediate ban and removal of the song. Citing concerns over lyrics and visuals that are obscene and potentially harmful to minors. Additionally, a criminal complaint has been lodged with the Delhi Police Cyber Cell regarding the song.
