Shah Rukh Khan Starrer Jawan 2 To NOT Happen Soon? Director Atlee Confirms, “We Will Explore Something Together”

Atlee has revealed that Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan 2 may not happen “for years,” and instead, the two might collaborate on another project in the meantime. Shah Rukh Khan, one of Bollywood’s biggest stars, continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Recently, he received his first National Award in 33 years for Atlee’s Jawan, fueling fans’ excitement for a potential follow-up. Fans have eagerly expressed their desire for more collaborations between SRK and Atlee, and now the filmmaker has shared his perspective.

Atlee Opens Up On Shah Rukh Khan Led Jawan 2

During an interaction with the media at the World Pickleball League season 2, Atlee called SRK his favourite pickleball partner. He was asked about the possibility of Jawan 2. Speaking to Hindustan Times, he said, “I think Shah Rukh sir and I will definitely work on something. But Jawan 2, I feel, might be some years later. Not immediately next. But when the time is right, we will definitely explore something together.”

Atlee also addressed rumours about directing Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3. Earlier reports suggested that Shah Rukh Khan might reprise his role after Ranveer Singh’s exit, with the condition that Atlee direct the film. However, a source close to production confirmed last month that Atlee is not involved. Clarifying the rumours, Atlee stated, “Oh! That’s just a rumour. I read it too. No, nothing like that.”

SRK’s Professional Front

In Jawan, SRK played a double role — portraying both a soldier father and a police officer’s son. His monologues and action sequences received widespread praise, and the film was declared a blockbuster hit. Moving forward, SRK will next appear in King, alongside his daughter Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Abhay Verma, Jaideep Ahlawat, and others.

Meanwhile, Atlee is currently working with Deepika Padukone on AA22xA6. The project is a highly anticipated project starring Allu Arjun, which is expected to be one of the biggest releases soon.
