Shah Rukh Khan Led Ra.One 2 In Works

Anubhav Sinha has expressed interest in creating Ra.One 2, though he emphasised that the project depends on Shah Rukh Khan’s availability. He indicated that making the sequel would require a long-term commitment of two to three years. Reflecting on the original film from 2011, Sinha noted that Ra.One was an experimental venture at a time when superhero movies were rare in Indian cinema. Despite the film’s ambitious blend of advanced VFX, gaming culture, and Indian family drama, it didn’t achieve the expected box office success. Nonetheless, its scenes and music continue to be memorable.

Director Anubhav Sinha Opens Up On Ra.One 2 Possibility

In a recent interview with Prabhat Khabar, Anubhav Sinha shared his thoughts about a possible sequel. He said, “Ra One 2 ka ye hai… mera bhi bada mann hai… Ra One 2 ko banane mein lagenge 2-3 saal. 2-3 saal ki lambi shaadi hai wo. To main zara, thoda sa khaali ho jau. Phir sochta hu ki wo teen saal tab main zindagi me lagana chahta hu aur uss wakt Khan sahab available hai ki nahi hai. Kyuki Khan sabah bhi to lage hue hai ek ke baad ek, ek ke baad ek.” (I wish to make Ra One 2. Unfortunately, it would take 2 to 3 years to make the film. It’s a long commitment. So, when I get a little freer, I’ll start thinking about it. I also need to see if Shah Rukh Khan is available, as he’s busy with back-to-back projects.)

Shah Rukh Khan On Ra.One 2

Regarding Shah Rukh Khan’s thoughts on the sequel, last year on his 60th birthday, the actor hinted at the possibility during a fan interaction on November 2 in Mumbai. He shared that the film is very close to his heart and praised Sinha’s dedication. Khan expressed his hope that Ra.One could pioneer a new trend in VFX-driven cinema. He added that while the original performed well, today’s tech-savvy audience might relate to its themes even more.
