Shraddha Kapoor To Star In Laxman Utekar-Dinesh Vijan’s Period Drama; Film To Go On Floors In November 2025- Report

After the success of Chhaava, director Laxman Utekar is now working on another grand historical film rooted in Maharashtrian culture. While the story is still under wraps, it has been reported that Shraddha Kapoor will play the lead role in this upcoming project, which is tentatively titled ITA.

Shraddha Kapoor To Play A Classical Dancer

Shraddha Kapoor will portray a trained classical dancer and one of the most important historical figures from Maharashtra. To prepare for the role, she will attend several dance workshops to perfect her skills. The film aims to showcase Maharashtra’s rich culture on a national level.

According to a report by Pinkvilla sources, “After Chhaava, this is another large-scale film by Utekar that celebrates Maratha heritage. Filming is expected to begin in November 2025, and the movie will likely be released by the end of 2026. However, the final schedule depends on how quickly pre-production is completed.”

The film is said to be inspired by a novel and will recreate an old historical era with great attention to detail. Casting for other important roles is still in progress. The makers plan to bring together talented actors from both Hindi and Marathi cinema.

Shraddha Kapoor’s Work Front

Shraddha was last seen in Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank (2024), a horror-comedy and the fourth installment in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. The film also featured Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee.

She is also set to work with Tumbbad director Rahi Anil Barve and has reportedly signed a multi-film deal with producer Ektaa Kapoor.
