siddhant chaturvedi's netlfix film ramree shelved

Siddhant Chaturvedi’s action creature film, Ramree, has reportedly been shelved. The film was initially set for release on Netflix. Siddhant, who was last seen in Dhadak 2, was reportedly prepared to star in this ambitious project, which was being directed by Neha Sharma. The film was said to be a two-hero story set in 1945, with Ajay Devgn rumoured to be producing it. Mohit Raina was also linked to the project.

Siddhant Chaturvedi’s Ramree Shelved?

According to a report by Mid-Day, Ramree was in development for over a year and was considered a high-budget film due to its period setting and scope. The creators aimed to set a new benchmark for OTT films in terms of scale and imagination. However, budget constraints ultimately led to the decision to shelve the project. A source explained, “Given the subject and the period setting, it was an expensive project. Even though platform heads were excited about the story, the financial risks were too high, so they decided not to move forward.”

Another insider mentioned that a project is only officially greenlit once it begins filming. Ramree was still in development and had not yet gone on floors, making it a part of the natural creative process where many concepts are explored but not all come to fruition.

Siddhant’s Bollywood Career

On the work front, Siddhant made his Bollywood debut with Gully Boy. He played MC Sher alongside Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. Since then, he has appeared in films like Gehraiyaan, Phone Bhoot, Bunty Aur Babli 2, and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. Stay tuned for more updates!
