Veteran actor Tinnu Anand is facing backlash after allegedly threatening to hit stray dogs with a hockey stick because of their barking. His housing society in Versova has now received legal notice over the matter. The notice, sent by advocate Manjula Biswas, says the society’s managing committee must protect stray animals and stop any harm against them. It highlights the legal and moral duty of the society to make the area safe and kind for both people and animals.
Advocate Manjula Biswas Sends NOTICE To Tinnu Anand’s Society
On Saturday, Advocate Biswas sent the notice to the secretary and managing committee of the society where Anand lives. She said Anand’s comments were not only a threat to the dogs but also to the residents who care for them. She accused the actor of promoting cruelty and creating fear in the community. According to her, his actions could disturb peace and may lead to legal trouble.
The notice mentions that Anand’s remarks could break several laws, like the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and parts of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita. These laws deal with criminal threats, disturbing peace, and public nuisance. Manjula Biswas stated, “As the managing body of the premises, the housing society is legally and morally bound to ensure that no resident threatens or harms community animals or animal caregivers, uphold the safety and rights of all residents, including those engaged in lawful caregiving under the law and prevent the society’s premises from becoming a platform for intimidation, violence, or hate speech.”
Biswas asked the society to take strong action. She wants them to speak out against Anand’s behaviour and remind everyone in the building about their duties towards stray animals. She also suggested sending a notice to all residents warning them that harming animals is a serious issue.
If the society does nothing, Biswas warned that legal action could be taken against the managing committee. She also plans to report the case to the police, the Animal Welfare Board of India, and other authorities.
