Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar, despite their busy schedules, make it a priority to spend quality time with their children. The couple, parents to son Aarav and daughter Nitara, often share family moments on Instagram. While Akshay tends to keep his family life private in interviews, Twinkle recently opened up in her blog for The Times Of India about an incident where their daughter felt insecure about her skin tone.
Twinkle Khanna on her daughter wanting fair skin
Twinkle recounted that Nitara was disheartened and wanted to stop her swimming lessons because of the tan she developed. Nitara expressed her wish to be the same color as her brother Aarav, who has a fairer complexion. She said, “I want to be the same color as bhaiya (brother).”This sentiment was sparked by a relative’s thoughtless comment, noting that Nitara was cute but not as fair as her brother.
To help her daughter, Twinkle gave Nitara a biography of Frida Kahlo, hoping to inspire her. After reading about Kahlo, Nitara felt more confident and remarked that she didn’t need as much sunblock as her brother. Twinkle quoted Nitara saying, “White is a light color, so it gets dirty fast like my T-shirt, brown is darker, so it doesn’t.”
The family has recently moved to London, where Twinkle is pursuing her Master’s degree and Aarav is attending university. Despite his hectic work schedule, Akshay ensures he spends time with them. The actor shared his routine in London, saying, “When I go to London, I drop my daughter at school, then drop my son at the university, and then finally drop my wife at the university.” He humorously added, “And then, like an ‘anpadh’, return home and watch cricket all day.”
Akshay Kumar on professional front
Akshay Kumar has several projects lined up. The Hindi remake of the Tamil drama film Soorarai Pottru is set for release on February 16 next year. Additionally, he will be seen in Housefull 5, which features an ensemble cast, and Welcome To The Jungle.
Despite their professional commitments, Twinkle and Akshay prioritise their family, ensuring they provide support and love to their children, guiding them through life’s challenges with care and wisdom.
