These celebrities were asked about their connections and endorsement deals with such online betting platforms, as reported by NDTV Profit. An ED official shared that these apps gained huge popularity by teaming up with well-known celebrities and influencers, despite being banned by the government. So far, Sonu Sood and Urvashi Rautela have not made any public statements regarding the issue.

Earlier in March, an FIR was registered in Hyderabad against 25 celebrities for promoting illegal betting platforms. Some of the names included in the complaint were Vijay Deverakonda, Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Manchu Lakshmi, Praneetha, and Nidhi Agarwal.

According to the complaint, these celebrities were paid large sums of money to advertise the platforms. It also mentioned that these illegal betting activities were affecting many families, especially those from middle and lower-middle-class backgrounds, pushing them into financial trouble.

Following this, Prakash Raj admitted that he had appeared in one such advertisement in 2015 but backed out within a year. Meanwhile, Rana Daggubati’s team clarified that his endorsements followed all legal guidelines.
