Uttarakhand Cloudburst Disaster Sara Ali Khan, Sonu Sood, Bhumi Pednekar And Other Celebs Pray For Safety

On August 5, 2025, a sudden cloudburst in Uttarkashi’s Dharali village triggered a devastating flash flood by overflowing the Kheer Ganga River. Four people died, and around 100 are missing amid widespread destruction of homes, hotels, and infrastructure.

Rescue efforts are underway on a war footing by the Army, NDRF, SDRF, ITBP, and local teams, using drones, cadaver dogs, and heavy machinery. Bad terrain and heavy rain have hampered operations, while authorities warn of continuous rain and heightened disaster risk across the Himalayas.

Celebrities React To Disaster Tragedy

Many Bollywood celebs like Bhumi Pednekar, Sonu Sood, Urvashi Rautela, Raghav Juyal, Sara Ali Khan, Adivi Sesh react to the disastrous Uttarkashi cloudburst.

Taking to her Instagram Story, the Metro… In Dino actress Sara Ali Khan wrote, “My heart goes out to everyone impacted by the incident in Uttarakhand. Praying for safety, strength and healing for all,” alongside a folded hands emoji. She also shared critical emergency contact numbers issued by the Uttarkashi District Emergency Operation Centre, amplifying official resources to aid rescue and relief efforts.

Actor Sonu Sood took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express his grief. He wrote, “Heartbroken by the devastating floods & cloudburst in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. Prayers for every life affected. It’s time the nation comes together — while the govt does its part, we as individuals must stand up for every soul who lost a home, a living, a life.”

Bhumi took to Instagram to voice her concern about climate change and express her devastation over the recent cloudburst tragedy. She wrote, “What’s happening in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand is heartbreaking.”

“Forests being cut down for unsustainable levels of development. Zero thought to balance. Every monsoon these states go through incredible amounts of devastation due to floods. Some visuals are so scary. My heart goes out to those that have to deal with this. We are all nothing in front of the wrath of nature. Learn,” she added in the note posted on her Instagram Stories.

Actor Raghav Juyal, who hails from Uttarakhand, also took to Instagram to send out prayers. He wrote, “Prayers” with folded hand emoji. Reposting a video on the growing construction work going on across the state, Raghav wrote, “Stop this. It’s already too late.”

Urvashi Rautela released a statement after the tragedy, saying, “As a daughter of Haridwar, every stone, every river, every breath of Uttarakhand is part of my soul. Today, seeing the devastating floods in the Kheer Ganga river in Uttarkashi—my land, my people, my family—I feel an ache that words can barely hold.”

“I stand with you, I pray with you, and I promise to use my voice, my reach, and my resources to bring attention and aid to you in every possible way. I humbly request my fans, my well-wishers across India and around the world—let’s unite. Even a small contribution, even sharing verified relief links, even sending prayers—it matters. It saves lives,” she added.

Adivi Sesh took to X and reacted to the heartbreaking visuals from Uttarakhand. He tweeted, “Praying for #Uttrakhand. Heartbreaking visuals.”
