While the teaser offers limited plot details, fans speculate that the film may involve elements of time travel. It has also been revealed that Mahesh Babu will portray Lord Rama in one sequence. Rajamouli described it as a deeply emotional moment. The director shared that seeing Mahesh as Lord Rama gave him goosebumps and called the Ramayana sequence one of the most memorable scenes he has created. Varanasi is scheduled to hit theatres during Sankranthi 2027.
