Varun Dhawan Is Back In His Element With Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari; To Tickle The Funny Bone In Full-Blown Comic Avatar

Varun Dhawan needs no introduction. The actor who entered the industry and our hearts as a student in 2012 with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year, is currently one of the most bankable and immensely loved stars in the country, Know for essaying a variety of roles in films such as ABCD 2, Dilwale, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Bhediya and more, the actor is now all set to play one of the titular characters in Shashank Khaitan’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.

Ahead of the trailer dropping tomorrow, the makers unveiled a fun teaser promo a while ago and it shows Varun back in his element – playing a character who is a full-blown comic.

Varun Dhawan is known for a variety of characters he’s played on both the big screen and small screen, his best have always been when he plays a light-hearted character who makes us laugh our hearts out. Be it Main Tera Hero’s Seenu or Dishoom’s Junaid Ansari or even Dilwale’s Veer Bakshi, Varun has always shone the brightest when he’s played a comic character – and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is surely going to be his return to the genre.

The actor – who was last seen on the big screen in an action-packed avatar in Baby John, is returning his element of making us laugh our hearts out with his full-blown comic portrayal of Sunny in SSKTK.

About SSKTK

Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari stars Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor as the film’s titular characters Sunny and Tulsi, respectively. It marks the third collaboration between Dhawan and Khaitan after delivering fan-favourite blockbusters Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania in 2014 and Badrinath Ki Dulhania in 2017.

The upcoming rom-com also stars Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf in pivotal roles along side Akshay Oberoi and Maniesh Paul. SSKTK blends festive sparkle with romance, comedy and drama, making it one of the most-awaited releases of the year.

The film is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta and Shashank Khaitan under the banners of Dharma Productions and Mentor Disciple Entertainment. Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari will light up theatres this Dussehra, October 2, 2025.
