Vidya Balan Touches Rekha’s Feet at Parineeta Screening

Vidya Balan’s first film Parineeta has completed 20 years since its release. Directed by Pradeep Sarkar, the film originally hit theatres on June 10, 2005. Known for its beautiful storytelling and strong cultural themes, Parineeta won several awards, including a National Film Award. To celebrate this milestone, the film was re-released, bringing together the cast and crew for a special event.

Vidya Balan’s Special Moment With Rekha Wins Hearts

At the re-release celebration, many Bollywood celebrities attended to show their support. Rekha, Dia Mirza, Shreya Ghoshal, Rajkumar Hirani, and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra were among the many who joined the festivities. Parineeta lead actress Vidya Balan also took part in the celebration and caught everyone’s attention with her warm gesture towards Rekha.

During the red carpet event, Vidya was seen touching Rekha’s feet, showing her deep respect for the veteran actress. The two later shared a heartfelt hug, a moment that was captured on video and widely shared online. Fans loved the interaction, calling them “two icons together” in the comments.

The event also featured traditional celebrations. Vidya joined the Dhunuchi Naach, a traditional Bengali dance, while Rekha was seen affectionately kissing the film’s poster.
