Varsha Bhatt Mother Dies At 85
Her last rites were scheduled to take place at the Versova crematorium on Saturday at 2:00 PM. The ceremony was expected to be a private one, attended only by close family members. Vikram Bhatt began his career in the film world at the young age of 14. Over the years, he has directed several hit films like Ghulam and 1920. He is especially known for his work in the horror genre, with popular films such as Shaapit and Haunted – 3D.
Many people once believed Vikram was related to filmmakers Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt, but that is not true. Though there is no family relation, Mahesh Bhatt is a mentor to Vikram.
Vikram’s daughter, Krishna Bhatt, has also entered the film industry and is now working as a director. Though Varsha Bhatt stayed away from the public eye, she played an important role as a strong support system for the Bhatt family.
At present, Vikram is working on his next horror film, Haunted: Ghosts of the Past. This film is part of his ongoing horror franchise, which includes the 1920 series and Haunted. In 2011, Vikram made history by bringing India’s first stereoscopic 3D horror film with Haunted – 3D.
