Dangal

Aamir Khan’s wrestling biopic ‘Dangal‘, based on the life story of Indian wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters, Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari is still going steady at the box office. The movie did a business of Rs 13 lakh on Feb 3 and the total domestic collection of the movie is Rs 373.19 crore nett. The movie has broken several records, but it won’t be able to make an all-time record in cities like Mumbai, Assam, Bihar and Odisha. The worst performing circuit is Bihar as the movie could not beat Aamir’s previous releases like ‘PK’ and ‘Dhoom 3’.

Going by the current numbers, the movie could possibly close somewhere around Rs 380 crore. ‘Dangal’ helmed by Nitesh Tiwari stars Aamir Khan, Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar in significant roles. The movie released on December 23, 2016. The movie has had a long run and the numbers are still pouring in.

It’s indeed magical as two big movies, Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’ and Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ released on Jan 25, 2017, so there no expectations in numbers from ‘Dangal’. But, in spite of decrease in number of screens and new big entrants, the movie is still raking in numbers.
