Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya starrer Telugu film Bangarraju hit the theatres on January 14 on Sankranti. Given the Covid-19 pandemic scare, spike in the Omicron and Covid cases and strict restrictions, the movie earned a decent number at the box office. Zee Studios has shared the day 1 collection on social media. Bangarraju had minted Rs 17 crore plus (gross).

Bangarraju also starred Ramya Krishnan and Krithi Shetty in the lead roles. It was released on over 1200 screens worldwide.

Bangarraju has surpassed Naga Chaitanya’s Love Story Day 1 collection. It collected almost Rs 10 crores at the box office worldwide on the first day of its release.

Bangarraju is directed by Kalyan Krishna Kurasala, who also co-wrote the drama with Satyanand. Backed by Nagarjuna’s Annapurna Studios in association with Zee Studios, the film also has Rao Ramesh, Brahmaji, Vennela Kishore, Jhansi, Anitha Chowdhary, Rohini and Praveen in pivotal roles. The movie is director Kalyan Krishna Kurasala’s follow-up film to his 2015 supernatural thriller, Soggade Chinni Nayana.
