Poster Boys, Daddy

The first weekend box office business of ‘Poster Boys’ and ‘Daddy’ has been disappointing. Let’s start with Shreyas Talpade’s comic-caper ‘Poster Boys’ which is a Hindi remake of the Marathi hit flick ‘Poshter Boyz’. The movie did a business of Rs 3 crore nett on Sunday, so it increased by Rs 50 lakh as compared to the Saturday numbers. The overall three-day business of the movie is approximately Rs 7.25 crore nett. The increase is very limited and the movie needed to show bigger box office growth. Since the movie has a limited single screen release, the numbers have been held back. Ajay Devgn’s ‘Baadshaho’ kept all the good single screens in its second week in major parts of the country. The Delhi/UP circuit has been affected severely due to this.

Now talking about Arjun Rampal-starrer ‘Daddy’, the business is even lower than that of ‘Poster Boys’ as the movie minted Rs 1.75 crore nett on Sunday. So, the total three-day business of the movie is approximately Rs 4.50 crore nett. In Mumbai alone, the movie has done a business of Rs 2.75 crore nett, however, the business is still not that good. So, if we have to consider the box office business of both the movies, ‘Poster Boys’ is racing ahead of ‘Daddy’. However, this is just a comparative analysis, as on the whole, none of the movies have good numbers to boast of. This Friday as Kangana Ranaut-starrer ‘Simran’ and Farhan Akhtar-starrer ‘Lucknow Central’ will be hitting the big screens, let’s see how these movies fare from thereon.
