‘Fanney Khan’ sees a downfall in its collection at the box office
Anil Kapoor starrer ‘Fanney Khan’ has raked in Rs 85 lakhs on its first Monday at the box office. The film collected Rs 2.15 crores on Friday, Rs 2.75 crores on Saturday, Rs 3.22 crores on Sunday taking its total to Rs 8.97 crores.
The film opened to mixed reviews from critics as well as the audience and also faced competition from Taapsee Pannu and Rishi Kapoor‘s ‘Mulk’ and Dulquer Salmaan, Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar’s ‘Karwaan’.
The story is one of its kind musical comedy, which revolves around a father-daughter relationship, where the daughter aspires to be a singer. It is after 17 years that Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan came together for a film. Anil is seen in various shades of emotions. From being a happy-go-lucky guy to portraying an emotional father encouraging his daughter, his character is gripping enough to create interest.
Aishwarya plays a singing sensation in the film, whereas Rajkummar Rao portrays her love interest. ‘Fanney Khan’ is Atul Manjerekar’s debut film as a director.
Talking about their upcoming projects, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be seen with hubby Abhishek Bachchan in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Gulab Jamun’ whereas Anil Kapoor has ‘Ek Ladki Ko Deka Toh Esa Laga’ with his daughter Sonam Kapoor. Rajkummar Rao has ‘Mental Hai Kya’ along with Kangana Ranaut, ‘Stree’ with Shraddha Kapoor and ‘Made In China’ with TV star Mouni Roy.
