‘Hate Story 4’ beats ‘3 Storeys’ and ‘Dil Juunglee’ on opening day

The ‘Hate Story’ franchise has been a success right from its first edition. It is also one of only few Bollywood franchises to have had four films as part of it as of yet. Yesterday, as the Urvashi Rautela, Vivaan Bhathena, Karan Wahi and Ihana Dhillon-starrer hit the screens, it collected an amount of Rs 3.25 crore approx. It locked horns with Taapsee Pannu and Saqib Saleem’s ‘Dil Juunglee’ and Excel Entertainment‘s ‘3 Storeys’, but collected more than both, on opening day.

‘Dil Juunglee’ has recorded a poor opening, minting Rs 25 lakhs approx. ‘3 Storeys’, on the other hand, stands with a first-day collection of Rs 35 lakhs approx.

‘Hate Story 4’, although it holds a better position that its competitors, has failed to beat the first-day business of the previous edition. ‘Hate Story 3‘ had recorded an opening day of Rs 8.5 crore approx, and remains the highest opener among all four as of yet.

Tiger Shroff has been hailed as the new action star of Bollywood, ever since his film ‘Baaghi 2’ hit the theaters. The collections of the Ahmed Khan directorial has not been affected by Varun Dhawan‘s recent release ‘October’. The film has managed to collect Rs. 150 crores and counting. The ‘Heropanti‘ star even tweeted his thanks to his fans for their love.

On the other hand Shoojit Sircar directorial ‘October’ that had a slow start at the box office is slowly picking up. The Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu starrer unusual love story managed to collect Rs. 4.5 on its first day. On the second day the collections have picked up at Rs. 7 crores and now the total collections stands at Rs.11.50 crores.

The positive word of mouth publicity is bringing good results.

Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu starrer ‘October’ has hit the theaters to a mixed response. The Shoojit Sircar directorial that has got rave reviews from critics has managed to earn Rs. 4.50-4.75 on its first day.

Compared to Varun’s other films it has garnered a luke warm response from viewers. Judwaa 2 had managed to earn Rs. 15 crores on its first day and within 5 days it had entered the 100 crore club. (Also Read: Varun Dhawan opens up on his character Dan in ‘October’

Hopes are high that due to Baisakhi and Vishu holidays there will be an increase in the footfalls and positive word of mouth will take the Shoojit Sircar directorial to a new high.
