This Friday we had two films making it to the theatres, ‘Munna Michael’ and ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’. Starring Tiger Shroff, Nidhhi Agerwal and Nawazuddin Siddique, ‘Munna Michael’ was a massy, masala entertainer while ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ was a critically acclaimed, content-driven film. But looks like massy entertainer has failed to entertain the audience and content-driven film has taken the lead. Despite having a mileage over star power, ‘Munna Michael’ has failed to pull masses to the theatres. The first day collection of this film is really disappointing. As per Box Office India, this Sabbir Khan directorial has managed to make approximately Rs 6.75 crore at the box office on its opening day.

On the other hand, ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ that opened in only 400 screens, has managed to do fair business on its first day. The film that stars Ratna Pathak Shah, Aahana Kumra, Plabita Borthakur and Konkona Sensharma managed to earn around Rs 1 crore on its opening day. For a low-budget film like ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ that did not have great star power, the numbers are decent. Over the weekend, it is expected to witness a good jump.

Arjun Kapoor and Anil Kapoor’s ‘Mubarakan’ will hit the theatres on July 28, 2017. Let’s wait and watch whether it is able to mint good money at the box office or not. (Also Read: Munna Michael movie review: Tiger’s dance moves and punches are failed by poor logic)
