‘Rangoon’ first week collection: The movie fails badly at the box office

As a writer it is disheartening to write that a great film like ‘Rangoon’ has failed miserably at the box office. The movie in its first week has collected a dismal amount of Rs 19.25 crore. The film is one of the biggest disasters in the recent times. It would have been great if the film starring Kangana Ranaut, Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan would have at least done an average collection at the box office.

On the other hand, Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Jolly LL.B 2’ maintained well at the box office in its third week and collected Rs 8.25 crore, taking the till date total to Rs 105 crore. Rana Daggubati-starrer ‘The Ghazi Attack’ which started on a slow note maintained quite well in its first week. However, unfortunately there was a drop in the collection in the second week. In its second week, the movie collected Rs 4.25 crore, so the total collection is Rs 16 crore.
