Noor

Sonakshi Sinha-starrer ‘Noor‘ which released yesterday had a very dull opening at the box office. The movie collected Rs 1.25 crore nett on the first day and that’s a really low number. The movie could have at least collected Rs 3 crore, but it has not even managed half of it which is very disappointing for a first day. Other women-centric movies ‘Naam Shabana’, ‘Phillauri’, ‘Begum Jaan’ also did not have a good opening, but the collections of ‘Noor’ are not even 50% of these movies. Sonakshi may have had a fabulous start with Salman Khan-starrer ‘Dabangg’, but her movies like ‘Akira’ and ‘Lootera’ also did not collect good numbers. In fact, ‘Akira’ too was a solo project which focused completely on her, but ‘Noor’ has performed even poorly.

The movie was pitted against Raveena Tandon-starrer ‘Maatr’, so at least some growth was expected. Now, with such poor numbers, we are not too hopeful for the weekend as the opening day numbers indicate a dismal first weekend. So, even if the movie has a budget of around Rs 15-18 crore, the numbers are too low. ‘Noor’ also stars Kanan Gill (YouTuber and Stand-up artiste) and Purab Kohli.
