‘Udta Punjab’ earns Rs 10 crore on its first day

After much hullabaloo and series of controversies, Abhishek Chaubey’s ‘Udta Punjab‘ has released and had a fair opening at the box office. On its first day, the film bagged an amount of Rs 10 crore. Primary contributors to the collection were Delhi and Punjab.

Collections in Gujarat and Saurashtra were poor or average wherein the rest parts of India projected good to average box office performance. The film is targeted at niche multiplex audience and a steady growth in the collection is being predicted.

‘Udta Punjab’ stars Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh and is based upon the issue of drug abuse in Punjab.
