Begum Jaan

Another dull day for Vidya Balan-starrer ‘Begum Jaan‘ at the box office. The first Monday business is even more disappointing as the movie earned just Rs 1.50 crore. The business is a little better in Uttar Pradesh, but that doesn’t help the movie’s overall collections. So, the total four-day business of the movie is Rs 12 crore nett. With this pace, we think the movie can earn around Rs 15 crore nett in the first week, which is average considering the budget of the movie is Rs 19 crore.

The movie can recover its budget through satellite rights, but it won’t qualify as a HIT. The movie did not get a good reception critically too and the audience too did not take a liking to the subject of the story. Vidya Balan’s fabulous act could not do much to save the fate of the movie.
