Varun Dhawan and Saif Ali Khan

David Dhawan’s comic-caper ‘Judwaa 2’ has done a really good business in its second weekend. The movie raked in Rs 17 crore nett and in its second weekend which took its ten day total to Rs 112.50 crore nett. Just two more days, and the movie will cross the business of ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ and ‘Tubelight’ too. It will then capture the third spot, just behind Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’, amongst all the Bollywood releases of 2017.

Although the first week collection of ‘Judwaa 2’ was little more than ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’, the second weekend has registered slightly lesser numbers. Now, it all depends on the third weekend business to find out if the movie will turn out to be the highest Hindi grosser of this year. The movie had started off on a fantastic note and even surpassed the business of ‘Baahubali 2’, ‘Tubelight’ and ‘Raees’ in Delhi/UP and Bihar.

Talking about Saif Ali Khan-starrer ‘Chef’ which released last week, it has turned out to be a disaster at the box office. The movie has minted Rs 3.35 crore nett over the weekend which is really disappointing for the movie of Saif Ali Khan. ‘Judwaa 2’ has clearly overpowered ‘Chef’ and it’s quite sad for the latter which should have at least collected a decent amount to be in the race. Only a miracle can save the ‘Chef’ now. (Also Read: Judwaa 2 movie review: A regular spun-sugar film with flawed comedy)
