Phillauri, Naam Shabana

Taapsee Pannu and Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Naam Shabana‘ did a business of Rs 26 crore nett in the first week and it’s an average number considering the budget of the movie. Though the movie showed good growth on Saturday, it did not show the desired amount of growth on Sunday. (Also Read: ‘Naam Shabana’ holds stable on first Tuesday)

The weekdays had a holiday of ‘Rama Navami’ but post that, the movie could not show huge signs of growth. In the Mumbai circuit, the movie has performed good by minting Rs 8 crore nett which is much more than the lifetime business of movies like ‘Raees’, ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, ‘Jolly LL.B 2’ and ‘Kaabil’.

‘Naam Shabana’ starred Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Anupam Kher, Manoj Bajpayee, Prithviraj Sukumaran in pivotal roles. The movie was a spin-off the 2015 flick ‘Baby’.

On the other side, Anushka Sharma’s ‘Phillauri’ that finished two weeks since its release, registered a big fall by 82% as the movie collected Rs 3.75 crore nett. The total collection of the movie is Rs 24.50 crore nett in two weeks and that’s disappointing. The movie will not be able to even go ahead of ‘Naam Shabana’. Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh’s starry presence too could not fetch big numbers for the movie at the box office.
