The record-breaking wrestling biopic ‘Dangal’ is acing at the box office every single day. Now, the movie has recorded the highest first Tuesday business of all times at the box office on a non holiday Tuesday. The movie has minted almost Rs 22.50 crore nett on Tuesday alone and that takes the five day business to Rs 151.99 crore.

Salman Khan’s ‘Kick’ had the highest Tuesday collections but it was a national holiday then, given the occasion of Eid, whereas ‘Dangal’ has managed such huge numbers on a non holiday Tuesday. It’s indeed commendable that how despite the online leak, the movie is doing a great business. The movie dropped only by 10% on Tuesday as compared to Monday numbers. It also raked in more than Rs 45 crore in Mumbai and Delhi/UP region brought in around Rs 30 crore nett.

‘Dangal’ is based on the true story of Indian wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat who could not win a gold medal due to circumstances, but trains his daughters Geeta and Babita to become ace wrestlers, who win laurels and gold for the country at international level. Aamir Khan essayed the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat, Sakshi Tanwar played his wife, whereas Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra essayed the roles of Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari.
