Exclusive: After delivering three hits with Kartik Aaryan, Luv Ranjan will now be teaming up with Ranbir Kapoor. Although Kartik is Luv’s muse, this time, he decided to have a change in his cast. But there’s more to the story than what meets the eye.

Our exclusive source told us, “Ranbir was the first choice for the rom-com. Ajay Devgn had already given his nod and even told Luv that he will co-produce the film. But soon after, when Luv wanted the film to go on floors sometime early this year, right after ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’, RK bowed out due to date constraints. He had already given his dates to his other projects like Shamshera and Brahmastra.” (Also Read: EXCLUSIVE: Karan Johar advices Ayan Mukerji to increase lovemaking scenes between Alia and Ranbir?)

Then how did Ranbir Kapoor come back in the game? “Kartik was the next one, who Luv approached for the film. Both of them were on the same page and things were just getting locked, and Luv managed to convince the producers because Kartik’s become hot property right after ‘SKTKS’.

Everything was in place when Ranbir made a quick call to Luv and said he’s still interested in his film. He just had one condition – to shoot it sometime next year. Ajay, too, was more keen in getting RK alongside than having Kartik and they both decided to work out their dates.”

Well, Ranbir Kapoor’s gain is Kartik Aaryan’s loss, we say. But with him being unceremoniously dropped from the picture, we wonder if all’s well between the actor and the director. But we aren’t saying anything!

If reports are to be believed, Kartik Aaryan has bagged a film opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan. Whereas Ranbir Kapoor has films like ‘Brahmastra’ and ‘Shamshera’ in his kitty. The actor will soon be seen in Sanjay Dutt’s biopic ‘Sanju’  which is set to release on 29th June.
